Benefit Fakeup Review

Fakeup is a hydrating crease control concealer and is available in 3 shades (light, medium & deep)
First of all, lets all bathe in the beauty of the packaging! Benefit have done well with the beautiful silver chrome case which is embossed with pretty pink scrolls. It feels luxury, almost to luxurious to be just a concealer.
Fakeup is essentially a two in one product which is unlike other concealers.
The outside of the concealer stick is a hydrating ring of Vitamin E & apple seed extract designed to give immediate hydration.
The core of the product is the concealer which hides dark circles, smooths skin & diffuses light.

So does it work?
I have been applying Fakeup underneath my eyes using a patting motion gently with my ring finger to blend the product evenly. Once applied, it absorbs well and feels light on the skin.
I have found that it is initially quite shiny, so a little powder underneath my eyes is needed to mattify and set the product.
I would advise skipping your morning eye moisteriser and using Fakeup alone. Too much moisteriser under the eye can cause makeup to slip south throughout the day. And no one wants that!
Fakeup stays put for approximately 8 hours before it begins to crease. During the day my under eyes feel hydrated and the concealer does not look 'cakey'.
For me, it applies enough coverage to wear during the day but I would use a different concealer if I was to be doing a night out makeup look.
Overall I would say that the product gives more hydration than coverage. I wear glasses so I suffer with dark circles near the inner part of my eye close to where my glasses rest on my nose. Fakeup does improve the look of my dark circles and generally brightens the under eye area but doesn't completely mask the dark impefection.
Fakeup costs £18.50 and can be brought from any Benefit stand or from their website.

Overall I would give this product a 8/10.

    1. At first I wasn't quite sure about it, but once I had been using it for a week or so I started to love it! Really is a great product. I don't think it would be as good on really oily skin though. x
